Prenuptial contract, 23 June 1828, placing her property including two slaves, Berry and Nanny, in trust to her mother pending the death of Grierson or her husband William Grierson, with requirement that said property would then revert to the surviving spouse. Letter, 12 April 1837, Charleston, S.C., to Thomas Dawson, Coosawhatchie, S.C., from the widowed E.T.W. Grierson asking that her prenuptial agreement ("marriage settlement") be given to Alexander Moultrie for his examination, with a request that he pay for the titles.
